August 10th 2002 there was a fire on the soundstage
where the movie was filmed. No one was hurt but the damage costed $350, 000
There are less than 10 references to the Disneyland

The film was originally just called 'Pirates
of the Caribbean' but was changed to 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl' incase a sequel was going to be
made.

Port Royal at the beginning of the film is in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head
The female pirate in Jack's Crew, Anna Maria,
was a take from the two most famous women pirates in the Caribbean, Anne Bonney and Mary Read
The Jack Sparrow tattoo on Johnny Depps arm
was fake in the film but Depp got a real replica after finishing the film in honor of his son Jack
The Various 'Eunuch' lines were improvisations by
Johnny Depp
